Shoaib at Mother House

Calcutta: Shoaib Akhtar on Saturday paid a visit to the Mother House, the global headquarters of Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity.

The fast bowler paid his respects to the Nobel peace laureate and placed a bouquet at the Mother’s tomb.

Later, Shoaib also visited Nirmal Sishu Bhavan, an orphanage run by the Missionaries of Charity.

Shoaib said he always wanted to visit the Mother House. “I am happy that my long time desire has been fulfilled.”

He said he has plans to set up a hospital in Pakistan for skin treatment and would be interested to set up a similar facility in India if the government provided him with the land.

The cricketer spent about an hour at both Missionaries of Charity and Nirmala Sishu Bhavan.
