Calcutta: Shoaib Akhtar on Saturday paid a visit to the Mother House, the global headquarters of Mother Teresas Missionaries of Charity.
The fast bowler paid his respects to the Nobel peace laureate and placed a bouquet at the Mothers tomb.
Later, Shoaib also visited Nirmal Sishu Bhavan, an orphanage run by the Missionaries of Charity.
Shoaib said he always wanted to visit the Mother House. I am happy that my long time desire has been fulfilled.
He said he has plans to set up a hospital in Pakistan for skin treatment and would be interested to set up a similar facility in India if the government provided him with the land.
The cricketer spent about an hour at both Missionaries of Charity and Nirmala Sishu Bhavan.
